Well we are still here (USA)! Unfortunately, my (Yolanda) U.K. visa has still not arrived. We had to change our flights to the 8th, which would be today. But, we are still here and have had to change them AGAIN because my visa still has not arrived. Right now we've changed the tickets to April 13th, which is disappointing because it's a day after my mom's birthday, that we had so hoped to celebrate with her. Unfortunately, we have no choice but to wait patiently because I don't have my passport or greencard, so it's not as if we can skip the U.K. and just visit on our way back.
We had purposely applied just a couple weeks before we planned to fly because we knew we would fly through England again on our way back to the US in October and wanted my 6 month visa to still be valid so that we need not apply again. One might think it wise to just apply for a full year visa but it's 3 times more expensive and we were trying to be good stewards with what God has given us. Technically, 93% of visas are received within 3 weeks, but of course we fall into the 7 percentile who are yet to receive it.
We are all packed and ready to go and our patience is wearing thin, and yet, we can't help but think that maybe God is preparing us for the patience we will need once we actually arrive in Zimbabwe. Most unfortunate is the fact that every time we change our tickets there's a fee incurred, but we've been advised that it's still cheaper than actually canceling the tickets and purchasing new ones (or at least at this point it still is).
Please pray with us as we wait for my paperwork to arrive. We know His timing is perfect!
