Throughout the day though, Yolanda was not feeling 100%. She was actually feeling pretty crummy. She took a Covid test the next morning (6th) and it came back positive. So unfortunately, we were forced to cancel our engagements for the rest of the week. We had planned to be a part of other small groups (including a seniors' group) and had been invited to additional meals in people's homes. We were very sorry to miss spending time in smaller settings with all these people! It was really disappointing! However, we were thankful that we were able to have the Sunday with the church and that as far as we know, we didn't pass on the virus on to anyone else.
When we found out Yolanda was positive (I tested negative). We told the couple we were staying with that we were going to pack up and head to a hotel, but they insisted that we stay the rest of the week to rest in their home. They were extremely gracious and kind in allowing us to stay in their space! Yolanda did not leave the bedroom from Monday until Wednesday, while I slept in a different bedroom, because we were hoping Yolanda could recover within the week and we would be able to maintain our schedule. However, I tested positive on Wednesday.
We were supposed to be getting a ride to our next church on Thursday (a 2+ hour drive), and we were in constant communication with them, letting them know what was going on. The lady was still willing to pick us up and so she did. The arrangement in Myrtle Point was that the church put us up in a cabin, about 30 minutes outside of town. They generously had done this, prior to knowing anything about us having Covid. But it worked out perfectly, as a place for us to recover! We just slept for the first 3 days! They also provided food for our stay, so that we wouldn't have to leave to get anything. This was extremely kind and thoughtful and a huge blessing!
