Myrtle Point

We say it again and again, but when we visit any of our supporting churches, it always feels like "coming home." And we mean it! We are so thankful that each church feels an ownership of this ministry through their partnership. What a blessing it is! And visiting with those at Myrtle Point definitely feels like home.
Warrenton/Knappa

We drove up the Oregon coast last Friday and a 5.5 hour drive turned into a 9 hour drive! This part of the state doesn't usually get much snow, but that week, they had plenty of it. Many of the roads on which we drove were windy and icy, through forests of pine trees. We saw many cars off the side of the road and a couple bad accidents. At one point, we were driving on a regular road that had not been plowed with about 6-10 inches of snow, so we thought the car was going to get stuck. But someone with a big jeep helped us out and directed us an alternate way to go because the sheriff had closed the road several miles ahead We eventually made it to Warrenton that evening.
Yolanda spoke in the Saturday afternoon service at the Knappa campus and then again in the 2 Sunday morning services at the Warrenton campus. We were glad to meet everyone at the church and in person this time (for those who were on the previous Zoom call). We connected with them right away and they were so friendly and welcoming! We had Q&A times each day at potlucks and people asked lots and lots of questions. The Q&A times went longer than we anticipated, which was great, because that meant they were interested and wanted to know more! Our first visit couldn't have gone much better.
We very much enjoyed our weekend there and feel blessed that we got to know so many people from both campuses! We look forward to our second visit in a couple years!
Willows, CA
Yolanda flew to Sacramento and was picked up by a couple from Willows. She will be speaking tomorrow in the Sunday morning service at Willows Christian Church. I am disappointed to miss this visit and to not be able see the people there. Yolanda has already been encouraged though, by those she has seen in Willows since she has arrived!
Zimbabwe
Janeece has also been paying all of our bills, assisting with continued medical issues, and organizing payment for all of the children who are a part of our education sponsorship program for this first term of the school year. This includes waiting several hours at a clinic with those who needed medical treatment on multiple occasions. Many of these things are all happening at the same time. Of course there are many other unexpected things that pop up, which she has taken care of too. She is only one person, but she's doing parts of both of our jobs!
This week, we are also having another round of food hampers delivered to 42 families in Chinhoyi.
